About the Job
The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for the leadership, development, and execution of quality measures and processes to ensure Augusta Health meets or exceeds regulatory and internal quality measure goals. Responsible for creating, implementing, reporting quality and performance improvement activities by use of hospital quality dashboard, measuring outcomes, and sustaining improvement by using ideology principles of qualitative and quantitative data collection, data analytics, PDSA Cycle, Lean Six Sigma, and Reliability and Change Theories. The Quality Assurance Manager is an effective change agent and is a subject matter expert to leadership and is responsible for proactively identifying potential future regulatory quality measures/needs.
Education Requirements
Registered Nurse (RN) with a Bachelor’s Degree, required, Master’s Degree preferred.
Licensure and Certifications
License: RN License valid in the state of Virginia
Certification: Certified Professional in Health Care Quality (CPHQ) (or obtained within 6 months of hire) OR Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS).
Experience Requirements
• Preferred 3 years progressive leadership positions. Experience with implementing quality improvement programs that are proactive, progressive, and aligned with a hospital strategic plan.
• Preferred 5 years healthcare quality improvement with proven experience leading inter-professional teams to successful outcomes.
• Preferred 1 year integrated Health System and experience in a highly reliable organization (HRO), preferred.
Skill Requirements
• Must exhibit a comprehensive understanding of quality improvement methodologies, theory, and practice.
• Thorough understanding of state, national and accreditation organization regulatory standards related to patient safety and quality assurance across the continuum.
• Ability to negotiate, establish, and achieve accountability for leadership and associate team actions, outcomes, and deadlines
• Demonstrates patience and perseverance to accomplish clinical quality improvements.
• Effective oral, written and presentation skills. Proficient computer, research and data management skills.
