Job Summary:
The Quality/Accuracy Technician will be responsible for ensuring that body weld jigs, tools, pallets, parts, and assemblies meet quality targets and KPIs for new model launches. This role involves preparing, troubleshooting, and confirming new tooling/equipment, parts, and sub-assemblies at various vendors, and supporting weld and tool quality confirmation activities at North American Manufacturing Centers from installation through Start of Production.
Responsibilities:
- Check and confirm body weld jigs, tools, pallets, parts, and assemblies to meet quality targets/KPIs for new model launches.
- Prepare, troubleshoot, and confirm new tooling/equipment, parts, and sub-assemblies at various tool/equipment vendors.
- Support weld and tool quality confirmation activities at NAMCs from installation through SOP.
- Create detailed Quality Seibi daily plans, Project Task Reports, Problem Follow Sheets, track activity status, coordinate Safety communications (JSA, CMs/remedies to unsafe conditions, and safety audits), and support daily/weekly verbal and written communication with the Quality Seibi Project Leader, Client, and Seibi Management.
- Provide effective written and verbal communication with Quality Seibi Team Members, Client, Management, and outside groups regarding dimensional information and issues that require resolution.
- Gather and manage part information from Digital Engineering systems and drawings. Analyze part/sub-assembly dimensional data and provide feedback to the Project Leader and Seibi Management.
- Perform equipment/tool/part confirmation utilizing Vectorarm, FARO Arm, FARO Laser Tracker, check fixtures, weld tooling/equipment measurements, and part fitting activities.
- Engage in travel (or dispatch) to U.S. NAMCs and machine suppliers within the US and Mexico, as well as foreign travel to Canada.
- Commonly work overtime, including weekends and holidays.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working with Vectorarm, FARO Arm, FARO Laser Tracker, check fixtures, and weld tooling/equipment measurements.
- Overall 2-3 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to travel up to 60%, mostly to Canada.
- Willingness to work overtime, including weekends and holidays.
