Watson is growing and looking to hire a full time Quality Control Inspector to join its team. The position is a first shift, full-time hourly position with opportunity for overtime. The individual would be responsible for quality control checks of incoming raw materials (primarily steel) to evaluate whether or not they conform to our purchasing requirements. Additionally, they would be checking sub-assemblies coming from our network of outsourced service providers, verifying that the work was done in accordance with our agreement.
Requirements
- Conduct material receipt, in-process and final inspections in accordance with standard and project specific inspection and test plans as they pertain to the following:
- Material Condition, Identification and Traceability
- Dimensional Conformity
- Welding and Weld Quality
- Bolt Installation and Joint Condition
- Surface Preparation and Finish
- Coating Application, Repair and Visual Appearance
- Product Assembly
- Shipment Preparations
- Record results from quality control inspections and tests.
- Review documentation including but not limited to shop drawings, project and standard specifications, codes, personnel qualifications, process control procedures, material test reports and subcontractor quality control records.
- Conduct inspection equipment calibration verifications.
- Assist the Quality Control Manager with department administrative tasks.
- (2) years steel fabrication industry or equivalent preferred.
- Weld inspection experience preferred.
- AWS QC1 certification is desirable.
- Other duties as required.
