Overview:The Quality Control Manager is responsible for representing the company's corporate commitment to brand consistency, by overview of product and installation techniques as dictated by corporate Quality Assurance Manual and procedures.
Responsibilities:Specific responsibilities include:
- Participates/works with managers to ensure goals and synergy of the group are maintained throughout the organization.
- Conducts job site inspections to provide support by observing and report the quality of the installation, control measuring and compliance to the contract specifications as well as construction codes. This includes work of company employees and monitoring subcontractor work in the same way.
- Performs system verification on completed systems to assure correct installation per design specifications.
- Witnesses and documents testing as well as any other recordkeeping for the department as needed.
- Provides notifications to project team and corporate regarding findings, solutions, responsible party and deadlines for correction.
- Ensures company standards are outlined in the quality control manual are effectively implemented.
- Maintains lessons learned to share with all projects.
- Assists in the implementation of a company quality control program, company standards, procedures, codes, contract documents, etc. required to perform assigned work.
- Interacts with project manager and teams daily and encourage the implementation of corporate quality control processes.
- Works with staff to promote and ensure the successful transition from fabrication to manufacturing throughout the organizations.
- Assists team in problem-solving as needed on the project.
- Performs receipt inspections of material for work in conjunction with material control as required.
This position is Full-Time, Exempt, and reports to the Business Unit Manager.
Qualifications:Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications
- 4-year degree in a related field plus two years' experience in construction quality control or 6 years in construction quality control for similar facilities such as construction installations on large, commercial buildings.
- Ability to act as a specialist in quality control, keeping up with changes in the industry and updating staff as well as corporate for any necessary procedural updates.
- Quality Control training is required.
- Working knowledge of construction codes for mechanical, electrical and plumbing.
- Working knowledge of regulatory agency requirements as it pertains to quality control.
- Ability to read and understand construction documents (contracts/subcontracts, purchase documents, plans and specifications.)
- Proven ability to supervise, communicate and lead project personnel.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Versed in the industry and the Company's competitors.
- Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.
- EPA 608 Certification.
Preferred Education, Experience, and Qualifications
- Construction claims experience.
Travel Requirements
- 0-5% of time will be spent traveling to job site(s)/office location.
Physical/Work Environment Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Climbing stairs.
- Remaining in a stationary position, often kneeling, standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
- Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
- Quiet environment.
- Light work that includes adjusting and/or moving objects up to 20 pounds.
