Job Summary: The QC Supervisor will directly support the National Manager of Quality Control at DreamFields Massachusetts in Tyngsborough, MA. This role involves cross-functional collaboration with departmental and corporate leadership to oversee, document, and report on the operations of the quality control department.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead a team of Quality Control Technicians and Leads, providing guidance, mentorship, and fostering a positive, collaborative work environment.
- Conduct internal audits and team meetings to monitor and improve team performance, communicate updates, gather insights, and ensure alignment with organizational quality objectives.
- Assist QC Leads in conducting performance reviews for QC staff.
- Monitor key performance indicators to ensure compliance with applicable cannabis regulations and DreamFields' internal specifications, policies, and procedures.
- Review and analyze daily reports from QC Leads and communicate relevant data to leadership.
- Collaborate with QC personnel and other departments to conduct non-conformance investigations and identify corrective actions, ensuring QC Leads follow through as necessary.
- Identify opportunities for retraining, documentation updates, or continuous improvement initiatives to reduce errors and enhance processes.
- Manage the submission of Deviation Requests, Nonconformance Reports, and Manufacturing Change Requests to corporate, ensuring organized archiving and follow-through.
- Support the National Manager of Quality Control with continuous improvement or growth initiatives, such as quality trials, new market expansions, or product launches.
- Provide insights and support to new quality leaders, enhancing the overall capabilities of the national quality team.
- Oversee tests or experiments and analyze/report data to support decision-making aligned with company goals.
- Update or create new quality control policies, procedures, or work instructions as needed, based on inspection results and data-driven insights.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Minimum age requirement of 21 with reliable transportation.
- Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to inspect products, transcribe data, and verify product labeling with high accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, including data analysis, Pivot Tables, and graphing.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a diverse team.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and coaching skills.
- Robust organizational skills for managing both physical and digital records.
- Analytical mindset for data-driven decision-making.
- Problem-solving skills with the capability to observe, validate, and resolve manufacturing issues in a dynamic environment.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
- Experience in quality control or assurance within the cannabis industry or a similarly regulated field.
- Familiarity with statistical and root cause analysis methods.
- Proven experience in supervisory or managerial roles; leading a quality team is desirable.
- Understanding of the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle for change management.
