Job Description - Quality Control Technician - 3rd Shift

Mullican Flooring, in Johnson City, TN is looking to add a 3rd shift Quality Control Technician to our team. The Quality Control Technician will ensure that manufactured wood products meet safety standards and company specifications. This position will work in the plant inspecting products, collecting samples, and document and compare results to established product specifications. They must notify shift supervision and/or hold products that do not meet specifications and meet with Quality Supervision at morning shift changes. Specific training for this position will be provided.

The Quality Control Technician will perform in-process inspections throughout the manufacturing process to include veneer, pressed panels, milled and finished products. The tech will check for specified milling dimensions, durability, and check operator records to ensure manufacturing process compliance. The technician is required to learn multiple processes, and procedural standards critical to product quality.

• Identify imperfections using digital calipers and gauges.
• Perform quality audits to determine that products meet required standards.
• Evaluate product layups and samples, compile data, and interpret results.
• Report inconsistencies, malfunctions, or variations from established standards.
• Document details of findings.
• Evaluate procedures.
• Recommend new or revised methods for production efficiency.
• Collect and prepare samples for testing.

Quality Control Technician Pay & Benefits

• Competitive Hourly Pay - $17.52 ($18.52 with shift premium)
• Shift Premium - $1.00 per hour
• Overtime Hours and Pay
• Full Plan of Benefits
• 3rd Shift: S-Th 7:30pm - 6:00am with occasional overtime when needed.
• $500 sign-on bonus after 90 days - $200 after 60 days; Remaining $300 after 90 days
