This role is a full-time permanent position working Monday-Friday.
What you will do as a QC Technician:
- Conduct thorough inspections of lumber and wood products to ensure they meet our quality standards.
- Perform various tests on products to check for defects, moisture content, and other quality indicators.
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, test results, and any quality issues detected.
- Ensure all products comply with industry standards and company specifications.
- Identify and report any quality issues and work with production staff to implement corrective actions.
- Recommend and assist in implementing process improvements to enhance product quality.
- Work closely with production staff, supervisors, and other team members to ensure quality standards are consistently met.
Experience and skills that will help you stand out:
- Previous experience in quality control, preferably in a sawmill or wood products industry.
- High school diploma or equivalent. Additional training or certification in quality control is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for identifying defects and quality issues.
- Understanding of wood products, grading standards, and quality control processes.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting heavy objects, standing for long periods, and working in various weather conditions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
