JOB SUMMARY:
Quality Dept Lead is responsible for maintaining elements of the Quality Management System (QMS) throughout the facility. Quality Dept Lead is responsible for managing a team of Quality associates across multiple shifts as well as managing quality of work processes and products across multiple filling lines/technologies and processes. The Quality Dept Lead is responsible for ensuring that all product that is sent to customers meets quality standards by enforcing compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WIs), and Quality Directives (QDs).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Set and manage goals and expectations with Quality associates (includes corrective action and reviews).
- Oversee preparation of all documents required for production (includes batch records, Quality checks, QDs, and establishing requirements for fill weight, lot codes, pack-out, etc.)
- Manage workstreams for Quality associates supporting the following functions:
- Component inspection and disposition
- Raw Material inspection and disposition
- Bulk testing and disposition
- Finished Good production line sign off, inspections, samples and close out
- Finished Good disposition
- Support creation and updates to QDs as required.
- Lead shift crossover meetings with QC and report out on number and percent reworks.
- Partner with production personnel to develop process improvements.
- Enforce compliance with GMPs, SOPs, WIs, and QDs across the facility.
- Work with account managers to ensure preparedness for pilots, first production, customer visits, and customer requests to update standards.
- Facilitate QMS processes including but not limited to: Document Control, Calibration, Customer Complaints, Environmental Monitoring, CAPAs, and Non-Conformances.
- Assist in Quality Agreement and contract reviews.
- Participate in Client, Certification, and Regulatory audits both in preparation, execution and required actions.
- Prepare reports and monitor trends for Quality and team member metrics.
- Participate in facility Lean Manufacturing operations through participating in and leading Kaizens, RCAs, etc.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must have the ability to be physically present on the production floor at least 80% of the time
- Must have the ability to lift at least 50lbs
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
- Audit experience with Regulatory bodies, such as FDA, Health Canada, or TGA.
- Audit experience for ISO and Organic certifications.
- Knowledge of cGMPs, cosmetic manufacturing regulations, and MoCRA
- Demonstrates ability to communicate collaboratively cross functionally (between QC, Production, Account Management, Research & Development, Manufacturing).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Powerpoint
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to read and write in English
- Proficient in math (adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, converting between units of measurement)
- Understands the importance of adhering to process
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Must have experience of directly managing/supervising teams > 5 people
- Previous experience in a production or manufacturing environment is preferred (cosmetics, food, bottling, etc)
- Previous experience working in a GMP environment is preferred
- Experience working in Organic regulated fields is not required but beneficial

In compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, we are disclosing the compensation range for roles that will be, or could be, performed in Colorado. Compensation for similar positions located outside of Colorado may differ.
If performed in Colorado, the salary for this position generally ranges between $60,000 - $80,000. This salary range may vary based on relevant factors including but not limited to experience, education, performance, scope of responsibilities, location and other considerations permitted by law.
