About the Job
Individual works under the direction of the Quality Manager, performing quality inspections, root cause analyses, implementing corrective actions, writing relevant reports, and leading improvement projects.
Responsibilities:Exemplary Duties/Responsibilities
- Lead and report on Root Cause and Corrective Action efforts
- Prepare corrective action reports
- Lead RMA resolution activities and report on open RMAs
- Review and disposition DMRs
- Participate in or lead continuous improvement events/projects
- Participate in or lead plant equipment repair, improvement, and maintenance activities
- Lead quality audits of internal and external processes
- Create and maintain inspection procedures
- Perform metallographic inspections
- Prepare material analysis reports
- Maintain and provide training on inspection systems and tools
- Establish machine capability envelopes for key production equipment
- Track and report on vendor quality
- Prepare progress or status reports
- Perform materials testing as needed
- Perform dimensional inspections as needed to support quality technicians

Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
- Scientific degree (BS or AS with demonstrated experience)
- Experience with a process improvement framework: FMEA, six sigma, or other
- Experience writing professional reports
- 3+ years of experience with dimensional inspection in a manufacturing environment
Knowledge:
- Proficient in reading engineering drawings
- Expert user of Microsoft office suite
- Deep knowledge of inspection tools and methods
- Deep knowledge of process improvement tools and methods
Skills:
- Good organizational skills
- Good project management skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Able to create informative visual representations of data
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with metallographic inspection
- Solid modeling with Solidworks
- Practical experience with statistical analysis
Physical/Environmental Demands: Possess manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, work with the fingers and perceives attributes of objects and materials.
