The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for leading, identifying and implementing the MIC Group Quality initiatives at the supplier level, utilizing elements and Company procedures established from the AS9100 Rev D requirements. This position requires Leadership ability to be a strong communicator, decision-maker, collaborator, critical Risk-Based thinker.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drive supplier quality objectives throughout MIC Group's supplier base to ensure a high degree of product conformance.
- Ensure utilization of quality system procedures and processes to maintain high standards of quality and reliability.
- Implement new techniques for the control of quality and reliability as directed by the Quality Manager.
- Understanding of inventory movements.
- Collect data, analyze and report on performance of Supplier quality systems.
- Create and maintain a relationship with suppliers to address and eliminate non-conformities.
- Conduct regular supplier audits.
- Liaison between parties on matters relating to plant/supplier quality. (Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Supplier).
- Provide technical support to the Manufacturing and Engineering departments concerning supplier quality.
- Understands the customer's and Company quality expectations and assists in determining significant characteristics and appropriate controls for suppliers to meet expectations.
- Provide supplier data to support the Company Approved Vendor List (AVL).
- Initiate and resolve all supplier Corrective Actions utilizing 8D / 5-Why methodologies, including measure of effectiveness.
- Reporting relationship will be directly to the MIC Group Quality Manager with dotted line professional guidance to Director of Supply Chain.
- Assist and document in PPAP inspections.
- Creation of Executive Level data Reports.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Four-year technical degree.
- 3-5 years of experience in a Supplier Quality Engineering role.
- Experience in manufacturing of precision machined and fabricated complex hardware.
- Understanding of Design Failure Mode Effect Analysis (DFMEA), Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis (PFMEA) or Six Sigma concepts.
- Ability to drive technical discussions with internal and external teams and suppliers in each of the manufacturing/installation sites as defined per project.

- Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications, ability to create Excel spreadsheets, analyze data and draw a summary conclusion from data.
- Must be available to travel up to 60%.
- Possess, or be able to get, a US passport for international travel.
