Job Summary
Stratosphere Quality is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Quality Engineer to join our team on a 6-week contract in Fremont, TN. This role is critical in ensuring that our client in the automotive industry maintains the highest quality standards, particularly in interior components. The successful candidate will have 5-7 years of experience, strong communication and teamwork skills, and the ability to manage action plans and drive resolutions effectively. The role requires significant walking within a large facility and involves close collaboration with both internal teams and external partners.

This role is critical in ensuring that our client in the automotive industry maintains the highest quality standards, particularly in interior components. The successful candidate will have 5-7 years of experience, strong communication and teamwork skills, and the ability to manage action plans and drive resolutions effectively. The role requires significant walking within a large facility and involves close collaboration with both internal teams and external partners.
Pay Rate: $45-$50 per hour
Essential Job Function:Job Duties:
- Confirm supplier quality firewall/safe launch effectiveness and provide oversight.
- Engage in problem-solving and monitor supplier progress on improvement action items and KPI validation.
- Audit processes and products, including first article checks, control plans, packaging, error-proofing, and standard work.
- Collaborate with Nissan and suppliers on progress, issues, and action items.
- Support suppliers in compliance with Nissan’s firewall and launch activities.
- Maintain professional project management and communication throughout the process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interior Quality Control: Oversee and ensure the quality of interior components, meeting automotive industry standards
- Process Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in production processes and implement solutions.
- Project Management: Lead and manage quality-related projects, ensuring they meet deadlines and objectives.
- Client Communication: Act as a liaison with the client, providing updates and addressing any quality concerns.
- Client and Supplier Collaboration: Act as a liaison with clients and suppliers, providing updates and addressing any quality concerns.
- Audits and Inspections: Conduct thorough audits and inspections of processes, control plans, and product quality.
- Documentation: Keep accurate records of inspections and quality control activities, and report findings to management.

- Skills, Knowledge, and Qualifications Required
- 5-7 years of experience in Quality Engineering, with a focus on interior components in the automotive industry.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Proven ability to manage action plans and drive resolution in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work well with people and teams, demonstrating strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Significant walking required within a large facility.
- Experience in safe launch activities and process improvement methodologies.
- General Quality Engineering skills.
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, gauging, and tooling.
- Knowledge of APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) and PPAP (Production Part Approval Process).
- Broad quality engineering knowledge base.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients and teams.
- Strong PC skills, including proficiency with quality management tools and software.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Automotive Industry Experience: Prior work experience in the automotive industry is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with quality management tools and software is advantageous.
