JOB SUMMARY
The Quality Engineer is responsible for monitoring the performance of customer and internal KPI. This role champions improvements using analysis and implements corrections and improvements using quality tools such as Process mapping, SPC, FMEA, Six Sigma, Kaizens, A3s, fishbones, root cause analysis etc. They will develop inspection plans to assist the inspection department. The Quality Engineer will interface with program customers and program management.

- Is an integral contributor to quality of design and craftsmanship during development phases.
- Work with the quality control and production personnel to drive the continuous improvement process.
- Monitor and analyze customer satisfaction KPIs.
- Monitor and analyze internal data such as nonconformance and corrective actions.
- Interface with the customer on program quality issues.
- Improve and problem solve using quality tools such as Process mapping, SPC, FMEA, Six Sigma, Kaizens, A3s, fishbones, root cause analysis etc.
- Create quality improvement plans.
- Create inspection plans.
- Review and approve engineering documents.
- Review and approve purchasing and planning documents.
- Assist with audits.
- Participate in MRB and CCB
- Submit nonconformance documents to customers.
- Assist with audits to company guidelines.
- Identify and understand customer requirements.
- Assist with supplier problems, provides problem solving and resolutions.
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS – Education, Knowledge, and Experience
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Programming, Computer Science or related field is required
Experience:
- Level I: 3-5 years of engineering experience
- Level Il: 6-9 years of engineering experience
- Level IIl:10+ years of experience with at least 1 year leading or mentoring the work of assigned employees.
Skills:
- Proficient with Microsoft Office® programs, Office, and with MRP systems. Advanced Excel skills
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Strong trouble shooting skills and communication skills.
- Advanced Spreadsheet building and Microsoft Office Skills.
- Ability to read engineering drawings, specifications and other related literature is necessary.
- Proficient with general quality systems and with the following tools: Process mapping, SPC, FMEA, Six Sigma, Kaizens, A3s, fishbones.

- Extended or irregular hours may be required

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES
- ASQ Quality Engineer Certificate desired
SUPERVISION PROVIDED TO THE POSITION
- Direction is provided for assignments in terms of desired outcome (goals), timing and budget. Work is reviewed or measured in terms of meeting organizational objectives and schedules.
LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITY
- Has no direct reports, however, the Quality Engineer is expected to lead improvement and corrective action events and provide guidance to inspection staff.
PROBLEM SOLVING
- Develop and provide solutions to complex problems based on established precedents and are consistent with organization objectives.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Adient Aerospace offers competitive wages and benefits to recognize employees for their work. The base pay offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, location, experience and take into account internal equity.
Salary Range Transparency: $80,000 - $110,000 annually
