Description:
In this position, you will have responsibility for Client products prior to launch, with the goal of enabling strong quality during the development cycle.
This position partners with engineering, product development, Reliability engineering operations, Client Care, and the Watch component teams.
Strong Quality engineering skills in technical, statistical knowledge, Failure analysis, Exec presentations, and program management experience are essential.
Support technical readiness for during program development cycle
Drive project quality issues with material, process, fixtures, equipment etc. during the new-product phase to enable delivery of a mature product and manufacturing process into mass production
Utilize DOE, FMEA, and other industry-standard tools to proactively identify and address risks and optimize process parameters
Establish quality programs and process control plans for early detection of issues and to ensure the highest level of quality and reliability is consistently delivered
Manage the Product Quality Plan (PQP), innovating as needed to ensure robust quality for new products
Develop and implement new technologies to improve production quality, capacity, and efficiency
Succinctly communicate technical updates to the executive team
Own product quality strategy and execution
Manage the quality processes at the OEMs, including Incoming Quality Control (IQC), Outgoing Quality Control (OQC), Ongoing Reliability Testing (ORT)
Ensure contract manufacturers are prepared for pre-production builds
Evaluate prospective suppliers regarding quality management
Incorporate lessons learned from sustaining / shipping products into design and process improvements for next-generation products
Work with commodity managers and supplier quality engineers to ensure component quality & reliability; make recommendations to improve design/test
Key Qualifications:
Outstanding ability to build relationships; clear, consistent communication, results- oriented thinking; enthusiastic and motivated
Laser-focused on the smallest details and able to use data forensics to solve complex manufacturing assembly quality issues
3+ years proven experience in one or more of the following subject areas: New Product Introduction / Design Engineering / Manufacturing Operations
consumer electronics
Good understanding of electronic assembly processes
Solid understanding of statistical analysis and production control processes
Knowledgeable in data analysis and interpretation; Tableau scripting and JMP scripting knowledge is preferred
Experience partnering with international contract manufacturers in mass production; experience traveling to manufacturing sites
Must be a self starter with innovation, integrity, and attention to detail
Outstanding communications skills
