We have a challenging and exciting opportunity for a Quality Engineer to join the Quality Assurance team in Mesquite, TX.
Primary Purpose:
The Quality Engineer is responsible for analyzing quality output using appropriate statistical methods and data analysis to help drive improvements to reduce process variation and the cost of quality. This role will conduct internal quality audits, and ensure that the company's quality system is implemented and maintained in a fashion that ensures all manufactured products are of the highest quality. The individual in this position will investigate, analyze and recommend solutions to solve quality problems related to manufacturing and distribution processes. This role will work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering and Supply Chain to ensure conformance to requirements for all new and existing products.
Responsibilities:
- Implement systems and procedures that assure compliance with Quality Standards.
- Create, review and continuously improve Quality inspection work instructions, processes, and procedures.
- Perform internal and supplier audits. Issue internal and external Corrective Action Requests (CAR/SCAR).
- Work with customers on customer complaints (lead and organize containment action, root cause analysis and short and long-term corrective and preventive actions).
- Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data; making recommendations.
- Participate in Design Reviews, including technical reviews, Feasibility discussions, and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
- Develop, formalize, implement, and manage a Supplier Quality system that ensures incoming components meet specifications.
- Provide material review dispositions (MRB) for non-conformances.
- Lead and/or participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to quality.
- Ensure calibration of quality instruments is performed.
- Review, prepare and submit PPAP's.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Proven working experience as a Quality Engineer and expertise in the area of Quality.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 regulations and industry standards.
- Advanced problem solving, including analyzing, investigating, and following up.
- Experience with FMEA, SPC, MSA, Control Plans, PPAP.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment of constant change.
- GD&T Knowledge: Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing.
- Project Management: Experience leading quality-related and continuous improvement projects.
- Proficient in the use of statistical analysis and preparing reports and pareto charts.
- Excellent prioritization, interpersonal, organizational and multitasking skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Good oral and written communication skills are required.
- Experience performing data analysis.
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles.
- Computer experience with Microsoft Office products.
Preferred:
- Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) and Auditor certifications.
- Lean Six Sigma: Green or Black Belt certification.
- Basic Mechanical/Manufacturing-Assembly Skills
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field in Manufacturing, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering.
