Our client, a global copper supplier, is seeking a Quality Engineer to join their growing team. This permanent, Direct-Hire opportunity is located in Pine Hall, NC, offers a salary range of $64,320.00- $96,480.00 (depending on experience). The Quality Engineer will be responsible for developing, evaluating, and improving methods for complex manufacturing processes related to part fabrication of copper tubing. Duties also include effectively plan and execute improvement projects that drive sustained results. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with other departments to drive a quality culture via Process Management principles
- Responsible for developing KIV/KOV relationships and associated system implementation including communication plans and SPC where appropriate
- Identify improvements to our quality management system while supporting prescribed requirements especially in the areas of prevention, correction, document control, and continuous improvement
- Work collaboratively with production and laboratory personnel on root cause analysis investigations of quality and process problems based on statistical data
- Support Technical Service needs as related to customer expectations, including root cause investigation through laboratory defect sample analysis & other means of problem solving techniques
- Identify manufacturing improvement potentials and recommend solutions to improve quality, drive efficiency, reduce cost and improve technology. Utilize best practice benchmarking where possible
- Provide leadership and guidance in regards to material certifications, PPAPs, GR&R studies, SPC, FMEA, Control Plans and defective materials report
- Responsible for product development for new and existing customers, support and/or lead team in process and product development activities
- Serve essential role in new manufacturing equipment commissioning, establish SOPs such as operating procedures, recipes, quality controls for production
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Metallurgical, Material Science or Mechanical Engineering degree is strongly preferred
- Familiar with manufacturing, safety and quality concepts, practices and procedures
- Ability to communicate (verbal and written) technical information and strong organizational skills
- Strong skill set in ISO 9001 requirements is preferred
- General knowledge of SPC and statistical concepts is strongly preferred
- Six sigma green belt certification preferred
