We are seeking a creative, driven, and highly motivated Quality Engineer to join our team!
Summary:
The ideal candidate will initiate and participates at the highest levels in Quality reviews of Ingersoll engineering part design of machine tool components or external customer parts to help ensure optimum cost, quality, safety, and schedule is obtained and maintained. Develop Inspection plans for the machine shop lead cross functional teams in the development of PPAP's for internal and external customer parts.
Responsibilities:
- Working with NC Programming, Process Planning and Inspection departments; design, and/or develop quality plans for all parts, from a simple operator check sheet to a full PPAP depending on the nature and complexity of the part and the annual usage or customer requirement.
- Produce balloon drawings and FAIRs per customer requirements. Works with the process Planning and Applications Engineering in the "Design for Manufacture" process to reduce costs and increase throughput.
- Assist in developing and implementing inspection and quality standards for the machine shop.
- Provide technical support as required with internal and external customers.
- Completes special projects as required.
- Assists with other tasks as needed
Qualifications & Experience:
- Must have the ability to work effectively with people.
- Must have an excellent knowledge of manufacturing process and Geometric Dimensions and Tolerance.
- Must have an in-depth knowledge of a variety of inspection equipment and its usages. Must have broad knowledge of CMM and Tracker Laser processes.
- Must have good planning skills.
- Must have the ability to develop a quality control plan from a part drawing and manufacturing process plan.
- Must be a self-starter with a high level of energy.
- Must be able to work with minimum supervision.
- Five (5) to ten (10) years experience in a similar field.
Education:
An Associate's degree in Manufacturing or Technology which provides occupationally specific knowledge. In absence of an Associate's degree, ten (10) or more years of experience in a similar field.
Other Requirements:
- Must be a team player.
- Must work Overtime as required
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
