Summary of Duties:
Responsible for quality assurance assuring supplier compliance to deliver complex military products. Includes control and inspection of incoming materials and goods, liaise with other departments on quality matters, supplier selection and monitoring, collaborating with customers.
Specific Duties:
- Manages quality methods and standards for inspecting, testing, and evaluating products during all phases of the product lifecycle.
- Plans, implements, and monitors process improvements.
- Generates and approves documentation changes.
- Reviews and dispositions non-conforming material and recommends corrective actions.
- Collaborate with customers, internal departments, suppliers and others as needed.
- Negotiates quality standards with appropriate internal departments.
Specific Tasks:
· Acts as liaison/technical advisor to purchasing, production, and test departments.
· Provides failure analysis for non-conforming and discrepant materials
· Reviews production data and failures to initiate process improvements.
· Generates and validates First Article Inspection (FAI) reports in accordance with AS9102.
· Assesses supplier quality capabilities throughout program life cycle including customer approved special processes.
· Monitors supplier performance and uses this data to maintain an approved vendor list (AVL) in conjunction with purchasing department.
· Interprets purchase order quality notes and quality requirements to ensure supplier understanding and develops product acceptance plans.
· Inspects and manage incoming materials using critical and complex tests and tools to determine acceptability and quality specifications of materials.
· Schedules and conducts quality audits with suppliers and works with them to resolve on-going product problems.
· Reports monthly on performance and areas of concern.
· Conducts internal quality audits and reports findings to management.
· Participates in TQM initiatives in conducting daily tasks.
· Develops and follows procedures consistent with quality system requirements.
· Responsible for own safety and safety of others following company and OSHA safety guidelines.
Required:
BS degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in contract manufacturing, preferred.
Not less than five (5) years’experience in the electronic field, or in quality assurance.
Must have knowledge of manufacturing process (assembly, test, and troubleshooting) of complex electrical assemblies.
Must be proficient with MS Office.
