JOB INFORMATION:Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Quality Improvement Specialist for our Compliance department. Position is responsible for participating in the development, coordination and implementation of quality improvement programs and monitoring these programs throughout the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Minimal overnight travel depending on business needs
- Attend Quality Assurance/Improvement, Utilization Review meetings with payers as delineated by supervisor
- Compile findings in oral, written and graphic form; and prepare corrective action plans and recommendations for improvement
- Complete corrective action plans in order to ensure that desired outcomes are achieved and program changes are maintained
- Complete special projects and other duties as assigned
- Create and maintain constructive working relationships with management and field staff
- Maintain confidentiality of departmental and company information
- Participate in department and company meetings and events as delineated by supervisor
- Participate in evaluation and assessment of current practices in order to identify improvement opportunities/strategies for the delivery of effective quality improvement programs
- Participate in the development, coordination and implementation of quality improvement programs
- Prepare report/summary of key findings and recommendations of quality improvement efforts
- Remain current in program changes through review of pertinent publications and self-study
- Serve as a resource for field staff, managed care companies, the Veterans’ Administration and any other designated payer
- Submit routine reports to supervisor as requested
- Performs other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience
- Two year degree from an accredited college; or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
- Previous relevant experience in quality/assurance improvement
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Effectively communicate in English; both oral and written, with employees to ensure questions and concerns are processed in a timely manner
- Helpful, knowledgeable and polite while maintaining a positive attitude
- Interpret a variety of instructions in a variety of communication mediums
- Maintain confidentiality and practice discretion and caution when handling sensitive information
- Multi-task along with attention to detail
- Write detailed reports, summaries and corrective action plans
- Make effective presentations to management, employees and external customers with a high degree of professionalism and confidence
- Self-motivation, organized, time-management and deductive problem solving skills
- Work independently and as part of a team
