About the Job
The Quality Inspector B will perform mechanical and visual inspection of machined parts, castings, forgings, and electro-mechanical assemblies to determine conformance to drawings and specifications. Performs and verifies compliance to acceptance test procedures. Must be able to use standard measuring equipment to perform inspections necessary to verify conformance to blueprints, inspection specifications and verbal or written instructions with minimal supervision. Must have good working knowledge of military and commercial specifications, particularly ASME Y 14.5M (dimensioning and tolerancing), non-destructive test methods and trigonometric equations.
- Requires working knowledge of the surface plate setup inspection with the complex machined parts/castings/gears IAW DWG military and commercial specifications, with main focus on ASME Y14.5 (dimensioning and tolerancing), AS9102 FAI Quality Management System requirements. MIL-STD-100 (engineering drawing practices), AS9100 or ISO9001 Quality Management System requirements.
- Well versed with standard inspection measuring equipment.
- Experience in military/Aerospace industry.
- Machine shop experience preferred.
Looking for someone willing to work cooperatively with others in a hands-on team environment. Requires the ability to interact effectively with others, to include engineering, purchasing, planning and manufacturing staff, as well as with outside suppliers. Please note this is a temporary position; the assignment will end at the end of the year.
Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
Education: HS diploma or GED with 3 years' experience in mechanical inspection or related experience and/or equivalent training.
Computer skills: IBM PC basic knowledge, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook,
Please note that the salary range information is only applicable for California. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, candidate experience, qualifications, location as well as market and business considerations. Pay Range: $20.10/hour- $30.10/hour
