Quality Inspector
Monday-Friday 6am-2:30pm
General Description
This position is responsible for helping ensure the first quality product out of production before moving into the warehouse. This position has the authority to make product quality related decisions up to and including placing products on quality hold and issuing nonconformities based on final product acceptance criteria.
General Duties/Responsibilities
- Understand and utilize appropriate documents such as specs, acceptance limit examples and sampling plans, while following established Work Instructions.
- Work closely with production to streamline and improve final product moving from packaging to warehouse as warranted.
- Approves finished products by confirming specifications, performing barcode scanning, conducting visual and measurement tests, returning products for re-work, and confirming re-work prior to being received into warehouse.
- Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizes re-work and waste, and inputs data into quality database(s) or spreadsheet(s) and has the ability to create quality spreadsheets for product inspections, as required, for new products.
- Review and provide red-lined documents to document control for process improvements.
- Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and calibration requirements and calling for repairs.
- Work within the Quality department to validate and implement use of the Measure Fix in a timely manner.
- Maintains safe work environment at all times.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications.
- Accomplishes Quality and organization mission by completing related tasks as needed.
- Provides backup to Quality Technician as needed.
- Actively participates in department Quality meeting and overall Lean initiatives.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualification Requirements
- High school Diploma or equivalent GED
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, primarily Word and Excel
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
