Job Title: Quality Inspector
Location: Plymouth, MN
Duration: 12 Months
Note: No C2C
Summary: The Quality Inspector is responsible for performing inspection and testing of purchased materials, components, and products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications. This role involves conducting visual, dimensional, and functional inspections, recording data, operating test equipment, and participating in quality improvement initiatives.
Essential Functions:
- Inspection & Testing: Conduct visual, dimensional, and functional inspections and testing of materials, components, and products following documented policies and procedures.
- Data Recording: Accurately record inspection and test data as prescribed by written instructions and procedures.
- Equipment Operation: Operate test and measurement equipment as instructed and as documented in procedures.
- Policy Improvement: Recommend changes to policies and procedures based on inspection findings and prepare and submit change requests as needed.
- Non-Conformance Management: Document non-conformances in the Non-Conforming Material Review system and participate in corrective action processes.
- GR&R Studies: Assist in Gauge Repeatability and Reproducibility (GR&R) studies as directed by engineers or technicians.
- First Article Inspections: Collect data and perform testing for First Article Inspections (FAI).
- Special Testing: Conduct testing and inspection as requested for special test requests.
- Training: May train other Inspectors on inspection techniques and procedures.
- Data Analysis: Assist in gathering, analyzing, and trending data to support quality improvement efforts.
Other Duties:
- Perform miscellaneous tasks as required to support departmental and organizational goals.
- Contribute to divisional initiatives and support the Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
- Skills: Proficiency in using test and measurement equipment, strong attention to detail, and effective communication skills.
- Knowledge: Understanding of quality inspection principles and practices, familiarity with QMS and EMS standards, and ability to interpret technical specifications and documents.
