JOB DESCRIPTION
Title: Quality Inspector
HOURS:* (2nd Shift) 2:30PM-11:00pm Rotating days off, REQUIRED OT, weekends and holiday work required.
Pay Range: $20-$22/hr D.O.E.
SUMMARY OF ROLE
Performs visual and dimensional inspection of molded components and assemblies, records results, prepares various quality documents.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Read blueprints, Quality Plans, Cosmetic Standards and/or engineering specifications to obtain product information such as specified material, cosmetic requirements and dimensions.
- Perform visual inspection of molded components.
- Perform dimensional measurements on components and assemblies.
- Input data into SPC data base and evaluate.
- Perform line, in-process, sub-assembly, shipping, and receiving inspection as required.
- Perform audits and prepare reports under the direction of supervisor and document results.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Three years of related inspection experience in plastics industry).
- Five years of general inspection experience
- Ability to effectively communicate in English both verbally and in writing at least the general business level required.
- Spanish language skills are desirable but not required.
- . Ability to identify and resolve problems of a low complexity level required
- Ability to use basic inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and optical comparators.
- Ability to read blueprints
- Computer skills (word, excel etc.) desired but not required
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Visual acuity and manual dexterity required for operation of inspection equipment.
- Adequate physical mobility to go out onto shop floor to collect samples, communicate with floor personnel, etc.
- Office environment with frequent exposure to moderate noise levels on the shop level
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment is usually in an office within a manufacturing facility with low to moderate noise levels. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
