Quality Inspector
Our client, a leading precision machine shop located in the West Springfield, MA area, is seeking a skilled Quality Inspector for a contract-to-hire position. This role is expected to transition to a permanent position within 4-6 months. The pay range is $25-$29 per hour, depending on experience.
Responsibilities:
- Review customer drawings and specifications to ensure compliance.
- Identify necessary inspection points throughout the manufacturing process.
- Document inspection and test instructions, including any modifications.
- Maintain comprehensive quality assurance records.
- Conduct reviews of quality assurance processes and corrective action follow-ups.
- Perform initial and periodic inspections of special and standard gauges, test equipment, and tooling used in production.
- Ensure inspection and test equipment are calibrated according to established schedules.
Requirements:
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- At least 4 years of quality inspection experience in a machine shop environment.
- Background in quality inspection involving various materials, including sheet metal, aluminum, stainless steel, and polymers.
- Proficiency in preparing and reading inspection reports related to quality, measurements, calibration, and other technical documentation.
- Ability to interpret blueprint drawings.
- Experience with measurement tools such as micrometers and gauges, with a solid understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Experience in first piece and final parts inspection.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
