Paid Weekly, pay is $18.00 per hour.
SUMMARY
Responsible for testing equipment, product, inspecting materials, work in process, final product, and accurately recording the findings according to procedures, instructions, engineering drawings, and training. Must evaluate rejects and product defects and make decisions regarding the status of the product based on the inspection criteria. Must report failures or non-conformance processes to Production Manager or Quality Supervisor.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as a quality auditor throughout the production process and in the final product testing phase. Partners with quality and engineering teams to do verification tests, product review checks and validation tests, including, but not limited to all areas of production assembly and product development.
- Functions as part of the team with Production Leads/Supervisors to verify first articles are approved prior to the beginning of cell work set-up. Must make sure the part is to customer specifications and engineering drawing.
- Follow applicable procedures, instructions, engineering drawings, and training.
- Test and/or inspect the quality of the equipment, materials, work in process, and final product in a timely manner according to established written Quality Department procedures, engineering drawings, and documentation. This includes critical inspection items that may affect the function of the product.
- Evaluate rejects and product defects and make decisions regarding the status of the product based on the inspection criteria. This includes evaluating the severity of the rejects.
- Able to do product testing, validation, life studies, and calibrations. This could include the preparation of any paperwork associated with such tasks.
- Interface with supervision and/or management to ensure quality rejects and/or problems are brought to the attention of responsible personnel. This may include interfacing with employees in other departments.
- Repeatedly test existing products or prototypes under real-world conditions in order to determine how long a product will last, what parts will break down first and how to improve durability.
- Complete all documents and records required.
- Fill-in and work as an effective member of the team as an Inspector or Lab Technician as needed.
- Keep work areas clean, organized and well maintained to ensure a safe work environment.
- Mentor employees as needed in terms of the products and/or processes.
- Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as required.
AUTHORITY
- Reject nonconforming product.
- Approve all finished products by confirming specifications and conducting required tests.
- Request necessary supplies and resources required to complete the jobs assigned.
- Interface with other departments to ensure all quality rejects and/or problems are brought to the attention of responsible personnel.
- Suggest improved or alternative methods of inspecting and/or testing product.
- Audit throughout production floor to ensure production standards are met.

Required Experience:
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Able to correctly inspect and test product according to instructions, engineering drawings, and training.
- Able to correctly use required tools, fixtures, rulers, testing equipment, etc. involved in the testing and inspection processes.
- Able to read and understand the product criteria on engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Able to recognize quality problems with equipment, materials, work in process, and final product, and to inspect for critical items that may affect the function of the product.
- Able to inspect product and perform all other required duties in a timely manner as outlined by department supervision and management.
- Able to mentor employees as needed throughout the production process.
- Able to work and communicate well with others as well as keen attention to detail.
- Able to complete necessary documents and records as required.
- Able to read and write English.
- Good work attendance and dependability.
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
- Must be able to complete a position assessment test.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
May either sit at a workstation to inspect product, or may be required to move around while inspecting (i.e. auditing throughout production floor, incoming inspection, final product inspecting, shipping, etc.)
