Superior Metals Manufacturing is currently looking for a Quality Manager to join our team!
The Quality Manager is responsible for establishing, implementing and maintaining processes and practices within the business management system that help the organization achieve the highest quality standards possible and minimize product defects. This role also integrates all quality connected functions into an encompassing business system, designed to assist manufacturing operations in providing quality products that fulfill customer needs at a minimum cost. The Quality Manager also develops, communicates, and coordinates the execution of all Company quality programs along with providing leadership to the facility and direct responsibility for the Quality and Laboratory departments.

Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: $90k+, but will be evaluated depending on candidates’ knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Essential Job Functions/Duties:
- Design and Innovate: Establish and refine processes that ensure effective internal auditing, process control, and change management—transforming challenges into opportunities for improvement.

- Empower and Train: Facilitate and develop training and certification programs for our employees, empowering them with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in quality assurance.
- Collaborative Partner: Work closely with key customers on quality issues and audits, building strong relationships and ensuring our products exceed their expectations.
- Inspire Leadership: Provide guidance and support to the Quality and Laboratory departments, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and collaboration.

Key Relationships & Leadership:
- Reports to: General Manager/VP
- Direct reports: Lead a talented team, including the Laboratory Manager/Supervisor, Quality engineer technician, and Quality Control Engineers, guiding them towards excellence in their roles.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree with 5-10 years of manufacturing quality leadership experience, or an associate’s degree with 10-15 years of experience. We’re open to creative combinations of education and experience.
- Certifications: Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Six Sigma Green Belt (SSGB), or Six Sigma Black Belt (SSBB) are great, but not required.
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- A solid grasp of management and quality systems.
- Ability to read and understand safety rules, customer specs, and procedure manuals.
- Strong writing and communication skills.
- A self-starter who sees what needs to be done and jumps in with both feet.
- A knack for problem-solving and a calm demeanor, even in tricky situations.
- Familiarity with statistical analysis and quality techniques will put you ahead of the game.
