POSITION SUMMARY:

Wheatland Tube seeks a Quality Assurance Manager to manage all quality and technical activities of the Blytheville, Ar. Plant.  This person will work with other Quality Assurance Managers to ensure implementation and maintenance of a consistent quality system throughout Wheatland Tube and will report to the Director of Quality Assurance and Technical Services.

 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develops, assures and maintains the quality of products and processes, including standard procedures, quality audits/review, process engineering, etc.
• Develops policies, procedures and methods to evaluate and improve the quality of products, materials, components and/or operations.
• Supervises Quality Assurance personnel at the facility.
• Manages the lab activities for the facility.
• Manage daily conformance to existing quality system and drive continuous improvement activities.
• Manages plant trials and other activities affecting product quality; including coating, steel and other activities.
• Manage the ISO quality management system.
• Manages the gage calibration program for the facility.
• Tracks and resolves steel quality issues and works with purchasing and peers to support vendor evaluation programs.
• Provides product and technical support for sales, customer service, agents and customers.
• Customer visits as required for claim follow up as well as proactive visits.
• Support other Wheatland Tube facilities as directed by the Director of Technical Services and Quality Assurance.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience required. 5+ years of previous quality assurance experience required.
• ISO 9001 experience required.
• Experience working with pipe coatings, heat treatment and pipe finishing.
• Previously experience managing people.
• NDE experience required.
• Strong knowledge of production policies, procedures, and safety measures.
