We currently have an opportunity for a Quality Manager in the Construction Sector in College Point, NY. The Quality Manager will be responsible for managing and performing the daily QC responsibilities of specific projects to ensure the project is constructed in accordance with the established minimum standards. The QM role includes direct oversight and review of the entire documentation and physical inspection phase of the workflow process and working with other in-house personnel and external personnel to produce and document a quality product and project.
Responsibilities:- Prepare the Contractor Quality Programs and Quality Work Plans.
- Report to executive management on the performance of the Quality system and make recommendations for improvement.
- Establish and implement quality system in order to maintain and improve quality standards.
- Perform Inspections on Incoming Materials and Construction Activities.
- Maintain and update Quality Manuals.
- Prepare and maintain Quality Checklists, forms, and reports.
- Create, update, and maintain the project submittal log and all other project specific quality control reports.
- Provide daily QC reports that reinforce activities that are being constructed in conformance with each specific project's established standard and constructively confronts any non-conformance to produce the desired outcome in a timely manner.
- Conduct preparatory, initial, and follow-up meetings to establish an understanding of the standards of care desired for each definable feature of work.
- Verify and document that all materials received for the project are in conformance with the approved submittal, are handled and stored appropriately, and are installed and acceptable for use in the project.
- Assemble and forward project closeout documents that include O&M manuals, as-builts, and warranties.
- Stop work if necessary to resolve matters that affect safety, quality and/or inhibit the logical progress of work.
- Involvement on MTA projects including prior Quality Manager approval.
- BS in Engineering, Construction Management or related field or equivalent years’ experience.
- 5+ years of Heavy Civil Construction experience
- OSHA-30 Certification
- Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) as recognized by the American Society for Quality (ASQ) or a certified ISO-9000 Lead Auditor as recognized by the Registrar Accreditation Board (RAB) preferred.
