About the Job
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure all quality objectives at the site are consistently met and exceeded.
- Develop, enhance, and sustain the site's quality management system.
- Lead and manage customer audits effectively.
- Oversee document control, including QA Manual, SOPs, Guidelines, and Customer Specifications.
- Participate in and lead First Article Inspections (FAI).
- Act as the primary liaison for non-conforming materials, ensuring timely resolution with customers.
- Collaborate with local supply chain management to evaluate vendor performance through supplier scorecards, non-conforming material reports, and corrective actions.
- Analyze monthly quality metrics to maintain high performance standards at the facility.
- Prepare and present site quality, customer, and vendor performance data in Monthly Operations Reviews (MOR) to executive leadership.
- Implement corrective actions to enhance performance as needed.
- Identify and execute projects aimed at improving quality performance.
- Support the adoption of Lean Manufacturing principles to reduce inefficiencies, eliminate waste, and boost overall site performance.
- Assist in the implementation of the Manufacturing Operating System (MOS).
- Collaborate with Quality functional councils to standardize processes across sites and improve overall quality performance.
- Engage all plant employees through monthly communication/town hall meetings to maintain team alignment and clarity of organizational goals.
- Assess the performance of individual staff members and provide constructive feedback for improvement.
- Recruit and onboard new employees to enhance team capabilities and performance.
- Offer developmental and training opportunities to elevate staff performance.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing, Business, or a related field is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing quality leadership role is required.
- Experience in safety is advantageous.
- Familiarity with a Manufacturing Operating System is a plus.
- Comprehensive understanding of AIAG standards.
- Experience in Tier 1, OE Automotive environments.
- Proven understanding of the APQP launch process.
- Strong knowledge of quality standards and regulatory requirements, such as ISO 9001 and IATF 16949.
- Proficiency with quality management tools, including root cause analysis, CAPA, statistical process control (SPC), and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA).
- Experience with data analysis, report generation, and quality management software.
- Proven ability to lead a team within a manufacturing setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and other Continuous Improvement methods.
