SUMMARY
The Quality Manager is responsible for overall quality assurance as the result of efficient and productive processes that ensure the highest quality for our operations and to our customers. The position is responsible for a highly productive and safe manufacturing facility that is continually driving to exceed customer expectations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
- Provide Quality Assurance (QA) support and service in a cost effective and productive manner related to improvements in products and process development.
- Establish clear methods and process controls through instruction and documentation ensuring achievable outcomes.
- Establish and maintain the required specifications and quality requirements of our products.
- Responsible for monitoring and maintaining of all QA data and communicates with appropriate staff any related issues to improve the inspection process.
- Management of all measuring equipment.
- Responsible for quality training and creating a system to ensure high quality inspectors on a continuous basis.
- Perform maintenance and audits to get accurate inspection data.
- Implement effective processes for new product launches, product changes, process changes, product transfers, and material changes.
- Conducts meetings and documentation as a means to provide feedback of quality issues and involvement with defect countermeasure activity.
- Responsible for customer response to claims and provide solutions to problems.
- Prepares and controls a budget to carry out appropriate operation and achieve targets.
- Provide effective management and coaching for quality staff including establishment of expectations, performance monitoring, providing feedback, and progressive discipline.
- Deliver effective communication of factory results to the parent company monthly.
- Responsible for continuous improvement in a safe manner.
- Drive the implementation of quality control systems that meet customer requirements in accordance with the parent company's policy.
- Acts as the company IATF16949 Representative and improves the IATF16949 Quality System continually.
- Conducts management review of the quality system.
- Ensure proper maintenance of all appropriate and associated documents and records pertaining to the quality system.
- Responsible for various quality audits and control the whole factory as an audit-response window.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations.
- Manages and directs the activities of the Plant Quality Technicians and Inspectors.
- Assures plant purchases are made according to corporate guidelines, in budget, on a timely basis.
- Manages Quality Assurance Systems to include the maintenance of warranty data, in-plant scrap data, compliance data, customer concerns, etc. Assures accurate records are maintained for internal and external quality costs. Assure customer expectations are met.
- Prepares annual Quality budgets.
- Administers and signs-off existing/new process specifications
- Reviews all Quality reports to identify issues. Assists Plant Manager with the correction of issues.
- Manages the hiring and training of all direct reports. Monitors and provides feedback on direct report performance and provides developmental opportunities as needed.
- Provides technical support to customers and suppliers regarding resolution of quality or products liability issues.
- Determines dispositions of all defective materials and hold-ups.
- Setting quality objectives and related training.
- Ensuring the promotion of awareness of customer requirements throughout the location.
- Responsible for identification, evaluation and implementation of Customer Specific Requirements (CSRs) within the Manufacturing site.
- Monitoring of site corrective and preventive actions (e.g. proper claims handling).
- Ensure that the quality management system is maintained and its effectiveness / efficiency is continuously improved, and that the system always complies with the requirements of the current version of the ISO 9001/IATF 16949 specifications.

- Prior experience in Quality Management Systems required
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field of study or appropriate work experience in a production/manufacturing environment preferred.
- A minimum of five (5) years manufacturing experience is required.

- Computer literacy applied to scheduling and data management.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
- Ability to solve practical problems and work with a variety of variables.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Regularly required to sit, stand, and move about the facility.
- Required to be able to read documents, computer screens, and utilize a microscope.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Required to have the ability to travel to other facilities domestically and internationally.
