Summary
As our Quality Manager, you will lead quality efforts and partner closely with cross-functional members of the team to ensure our product, processes and services deliver desired customer satisfaction. This role will focus on our Architectural Solutions business, which includes our modular wall systems. This is a non-traditional quality role as it is an integral part of the entire product process, from development through installation.
We currently work in-office Monday-Thursday, with an optional remote day on Friday.
In This Role, You Will…
- Develop and maintain quality standards, specifications and procedures for our Architectural Solutions products
- Develop, train, promote and support quality efforts cross-functionally through designers, customer service and installers while ensuring adherence to established requirements
- Implement and maintain Quality Alerts and Correction Action Request (CAR) process with supplier partners
- Effectively communicate metrics and goals to all levels of the business as they apply to quality, including RMA, CAR and performance rates
- Support new and continuous product development efforts to ensure all quality related elements of the process are delivered on time, including DFMEA, DFM, quality planning, test protocols, sample testing and inspection procedures
- Actively promote quality team standards resulting in products that meet or exceed specifications for product safety, performance and reliability
- Frequently use the CAR and Quality Alert process to effectively communicate issues globally and document progress through established systems to determine corrective actions
- Write and distribute reports derived from root cause analysis of defective products or installation errors
- Work with OEM suppliers to facilitate process improvements and controls within their tiered suppliers manufacturing and warehousing operations
- Collect, organize and store relevant data within the team's documentation structure to support the corporate and global reference and usage
What You Bring to the Team
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience in quality control/quality assurance and process design and implementation is required
- Previous experience in contract furniture, architectural wall systems, construction and/or other similar installed office product is a plus
- Previous experience with aluminum extrusions, stamping, glass, fabrics, furniture and/or carpentry is a plus
- Strong knowledge of quality tools and methods
- The ability to effectively lead cross-functional teams focused on quality improvement and quality launch activities
- Excellent critical thinking skills
- A positive, self-starter with strong initiative and a hands-on approach to learning and solutioning
- The ability to manage competing tasks and projects, and think analytically
- The ability to travel up to 20%
