Quality Manager - Gpac

One of my best manufacturing clients is looking for a Quality Manager to ensure the effective deployment of a robust quality system. This role requires strong technical expertise along with exceptional communication and collaboration skills to work seamlessly with employees at all levels, as well as with customers, suppliers, and upper management. Success in this role is defined by maintaining high-quality standards while supporting efficient manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify compliance on dimensions, angles, radii, holes, surface finishes, concentricity, hardness, material, and plating using precision measuring tools.
- Ensure all required inspections (1st Piece, PPAPs, FMEAs, MSEs, etc.) are completed and documented.
- Oversee the distribution and proper use of shop floor documents (Work Orders, Labels, Inspection Plans, etc.).
- Manage gauge maintenance, including calibration.
- Organize and analyze inspection data to draw conclusions on root causes of issues.
- Use of CMM to enhance department efficiency.
- Address production or quality issues to prevent unnecessary costs.
- Bonus if started out as a machinist and worked your up to quality roles.
- Willingness to be hands-on and active on the shop floor.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 7 years of proven experience in similar roles within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with precision machined metals and tight tolerances.
- Understanding of centrifugal pumps.
- Flexibility to fulfill inspector and/or manager roles based on business needs.
- Ability to excel in a self-directed role with a high level of integrity.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with CMM and various measurement tools/gauges.
- Understanding of GD&T features.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and Word.
- Dependable, responsible, and trustworthy.
