About the Job
This position is responsible for implementing and sustaining our company quality and safety programs to assure all products manufactured by our animal feed manufacturing plant are made safely and comply with FDA/EQMS (Enterprise Quality Management Systems)/Feed Safety programs and meet customer expectations to achieve consistent quality levels.
Additional responsibilities include the facilitation of the safety program, safety audits, and monthly safety trainings, reporting of laboratory testing, training of production personnel, monitoring special customer driven projects, and cross-training.
This position will also lead our housekeeping program and manage a team of six housekeeping operators. Total direct reports will be 7 employees including the lab technician.
Experience & Education (Required):
- Bachelor's degree
- 2 plus years experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
Competencies & Other Skills (Required):
- Must possess strong customer service, quality and safety orientation.
- Ability to work as part of a collaborative Team.
- Proven Leadership skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skill
- Problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Ability to plan and organize.
- Must be detailed oriented and have great organizational skills.
- Computer proficiency
- Unquestionable integrity, customer focus and detail orientation.
Competencies & Other Skills (Preferred):
- Ability to execute Operator EQMS Standards training and development.
- 1 - 2 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 2 plus years Quality and/or Regulatory experience preferred
- Demonstrated proficiency in leading change in a team-oriented environment.
- Previous animal science or feed manufacturing experience preferred.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks or assignments.
- Strong, motivational, leadership and training skills.
- Proven experience facilitating and understanding safety and quality programs.
- Handle customer complaints correctly and with urgency to communicate with all parties involved.
