SUMMARY
The Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring that manufacturing processes and products meet quality standards set by the company and regulatory authorities. This role involves developing and implementing quality assurance processes, conducting quality audits, analyzing data to identify areas for improvement, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to address quality issues. This role is also responsible for the inspection team. This is a unique role in which we look for this person to fully take over for the current Quality Control Manager in time.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serves as an advocate for our quality system.
- Maintains efficient Quality Control Department operations including the priorities and performance of the Quality Control staff, by selecting, training, scheduling, supervising and evaluating department employees.
- Oversees daily operations of Quality Control Inspectors. Suggests operational improvements to enhance productivity.
- Defines all Quality Control projects and assigns authority/responsibility for those projects. Provides training and education to staff, including training materials, manuals, and developmental meetings.
- Assigns projects to Inspectors, may replace an Inspector if needed, and approves changes to project plans.
- Provides Inspectors with needed tools and resources to complete their jobs in a timely and efficient manner.
- Monitors, maintains high levels of service to, and works closely with staff.
- Oversees employee scheduling levels for optimal service.
- Oversees implementation of department policies and programs through staff.
- Develop, revise, and implement quality assurance procedures and processes to ensure compliance with industry standards, government regulations and customer requirements.
- Conduct quality system audits and inspections of manufacturing processes, equipment, and products to ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications, along with assessing product quality and identify areas for improvement.
- Analyze production data and quality metrics to identify trends, patterns, potential issues and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and supply chain, to address quality concerns and implement corrective actions.
- Provide training to employees on quality processes, procedures, and tools.
- Lead or participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance product quality, reduce defects, and improve processes.
- Investigate customer complaints and non-conformances and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Monitor and report on key quality metrics to track performance and drive improvement initiatives.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to quality assurance.
- Completes 8130 tags for parts being shipped to meet regulations (Has or is willing to get DMIR/DAR designation).

Required Experience:
Education, Experience and Credentials
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality management, or a related field strongly preferred.
- 5 years of proven experience in quality engineering or a related role in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
- Experience in general aviation industry preferred.
- Prior supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems, standards, and methodologies (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma).
- Experience with quality tools and techniques, such as statistical analysis, root cause analysis, and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in using quality management software and tools.
- Certification in quality management (e.g., Certified Quality Engineer) is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with general manufacturing processes, equipment, and materials.
- FAA (DMIR/DAR) designee preferred.

- Able to read drawings and other design data to determine key requirements for articles to be inspected.
- Able to read measuring instruments used in part inspections.
- Able to understand how an integrated ERP system works and how inspection transactions affect other elements of the organization and overall process.
- Able to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
- Able to demonstrate detail orientation for reading of engineering drawings and requirements on prints.
- Able to plan, prioritize, coordinate, and manage own work in a fast-paced environment. Able to work unsupervised and solve problems effectively and creatively.
- Able to display high levels of customer service, responding promptly and thoroughly to the inquiries and needs of individuals both internal and external to the organization.

- Able to perform HR-related functions including hiring and selection, orienting and training, managing performance, disciplinary action and recommending the termination of employees. Able to understand, administer, and comply with HR policies and procedures.
- Understand and maintain confidential nature of customer, organization and employee information, including and in accordance to HIPAA regulations.
- Show professional knowledge, proficiency and initiative in achieving goals and meeting standards.

- Able to meet FAA regulatory and safety requirements in all aspects of the work.
- Perform occasional lifting of supplies and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Hear, speak and effectively verbally communicate in the English language, including following oral and written instructions, in order to communicate with people inside and outside the organization.
- Stand, squat, reach, kneel, bend, and twist/turn for extended periods of time and perform long hours of work in the shop and hangar, inspecting parts and aircraft.
- Apply manual dexterity and visual acuity for computer keyboarding and office equipment use and to review detailed reports and information.
- Move around the shop and office area repeatedly throughout the day.
