About the Job
Responsibilities include:
- Ensure the RDC operates a safe working environment and is compliant with all BMWNA, Federal, State, and Local policies and regulations.
- Establish processes that Safeguard all BMW assets, inventory and personnel.
- Responsible for managing the BMW Quality Program (VPS), the development and implementation of medium and long range strategies that focus on improving facility Quality, Process Compliance and Inventory Integrity.
- Co-ordinate with the RDC Administrator and Operations Manager to create /maintain effective training documents, work instructions and accurate and complete training records.
- Responsible for training execution, process audits and continuous improvement programs.
- Work in conjunction with the Continental Distribution Center Packaging Engineer and BMWNA contracted packaging vendor(s) to develop new packaging as required and improve the performance of existing packaging.
- Represent the RDC as member of the BMWNA and BMW Group International Quality Committees.
- Prepare and maintain the Quality and Compliance portion of the facility budget.
- Assign individual and functional area performance and cost targets for Warehouse Supervisors.
- Frequently evaluate and appraise Warehouse Supervisor's performance. Coach, counsel, motivate and develop subordinates at every level. Identify and communicate opportunities and strengths.
- Follow up with Supervisors to ensure they are consistently enforcing BMW/Facility policy, work rules, standards and union contract rules (where applicable) whilst following established protocol for addressing unsatisfactory behavior.
- Direct Warehouse Supervisors as required to ensure all quality standards, Inventory targets and facility KPIs are met daily.
- Assist Supervisors with employee behavioral issues and conflict resolution.
- Processes employee grievances and prepare responses (Union facilities).
- Assist Warehouse Supervisors with resource planning, scheduling and workload balancing conflicts.
- Co-ordinate RDC Quality, Inventory and Compliance objectives with the RDC Operations Manager in order to minimize conflict and achieve collective goals.
- Assist in the recruitment, evaluation, hiring and training of the RDC management and leadership team.
- Provide oversight and Service Provider steering for standalone DMDCs: including review and validation of KPI reporting, invoicing, and contractual and bonus/malus obligations.
- Complete special projects as assigned by RDC Manager.

The pay range for this role is: $91,500.00 - $107,600.00.
The selected candidate's education, skills, experience, and location will be used to determine the final salary offer. All pay ranges are based on a full-time work schedule. This statement is in accordance with state and local pay disclosure requirements.

- Bachelor's Degree or business equivalent.
- 3-5 years of Logistics/Distribution, process quality, and deviation management experience.
- Minimum 5 years of direct management/supervision experience.
Preferences
- OEM distribution experience.
- Experience managing in a unionized environment.
