As the Quality Supervisor, you will report to the Quality Functional Lead at Coolidge, AZ plant. You will oversee the quarantine processes, incoming inspection, and metrology business units, ensuring the highest quality standards are met for our products and processes. You’ll lead a dedicated team of quality inspectors, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement and maintain robust quality systems. Your expertise will be vital in driving continuous improvement and ensuring compliance with industry regulations and customer requirements.
Responsibilities:Leadership and Oversight
- Supervise and mentor quality inspectors within quarantine, incoming inspection, and metrology teams.
- Ensure staff adherence to quality standards, policies, and procedures.
- Foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the teams.
Inspection and Compliance
- Oversee the cabs and other critical components incoming inspection process, ensuring compliance with specifications and quality standards.
- Manage quarantine processes, ensuring timely disposition of non-conforming materials.
- Develop and maintain inspection criteria and procedures in alignment with industry standards and regulations.
Metrology Management
- Supervise the metrology unit to ensure accurate calibration and maintenance of measurement instruments.
- Implement and monitor calibration schedules to guarantee compliance with quality requirements.
Documentation and Reporting
- Ensure accurate documentation of inspections, non-conformances, and corrective actions.
- Prepare regular quality reports for management, highlighting key metrics and areas for improvement.
Training and Development
- Conduct training sessions for inspectors on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
- Identify opportunities for professional development and skills enhancement within the team.
Collaboration
- Work closely with other departments to address quality-related issues and support cross-functional initiatives.
- Liaise with suppliers and vendors to resolve quality concerns and improve supply chain processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or equivalent).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Automotive or Class 8 Engineering.
- Proficient in Polyworks software; knowledge is a must.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and make corrections if needed.
- Excellent understanding of GD&T and ability to create datum strategies that minimize tolerance stack-up in critical areas.
- Self-motivated with a strong desire for continuous improvement and learning.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
PREFERRED
- Master’s degree in engineering – Industrial, Mechanical or Electrical.
- Knowledge of APQP and PPAP requirements.
- Certification in quality management (e.g., Certified Quality Engineer, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt) is a plus.
Candidates must have current U.S. work authorization or be TN eligible from Mexico or Canada.
