What you'll do
- Leads the internal Quality Inspectors to ensure all required tests and inspections are completed and properly documented.
- Coordinates with outside inspector to ensure all third-party inspection are completed on time.
- Completes the Quality Review Checklist for new projects.
- Documents all product nonconformances.
- Works with production staff and/or Purchasing to identify the root causes of nonconformance.
- Creates procedures needed for production, including repair procedures and weld procedures. Submits these procedures for approval to the appropriate regulatory agency as required.
- Weld PQR (Procedure Qualification Record) and relevant testing.
- Assists in welder qualification as needed.,
- Creates and submits paint plans for approval.
- Familiar with lab testing procedures.
- Familiar with the bearing test press and associated specifications as necessary and can train new inspectors to run the equipment.
- Ensures all measuring equipment is calibrated and calibrations stay up-to-date.
- Review and approves timecards of internal Quality Inspectors

Degree: High School Diploma or GED equivalent Required Major: N/A
Years of Experience: Minimum of 5 Area: Quality

- Understanding of bearing test press processes and procedures
- Up-to-date on DOT prequalification and inspection requirements
- Up-to-date on AISC/NTPEP requirements

Technical Skills: MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Agile/Product Management Software, Oracle
Licenses/Certifications
- Certified Weld Inspector
- NACE Certification
- Nondestructive Testing Methods (UT & MT)
Physical Requirements (Approximate time spent to be included in physical demands such as walking, or bending, specific lifting requirements (lbs.), and/or other requirements such as vision or hearing)
Most of the time spent sitting and walking. May be situations which require up to 40 pounds of lifting. Must be able to bend periodically. Must be able to see and hear.
