About the Job
What You'll Do
- Assist Quality Engineering in the installation, setup, qualification, and documentation of new equipment, ensuring proper functionality and adherence to quality standards
- Partner with Quality Engineering to develop automated inspection programs and reports on various inspection equipment
- Provide training and support to manufacturing and quality personnel to enhance overall capabilities and knowledge in quality control
- Analyze data to identify, troubleshoot, and escalate systemic process and performance issues, improving overall product quality and process efficiency
- Verify equipment setup to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards
- Perform manual and automated quality inspections on components, assemblies, and finished products
- Perform First Piece Inspection (FPI) and First Article Inspection (FAI) of components and assemblies
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve quality issues through the corrective action process
- Support Quality Control as the first line of escalation in judgment calls, providing timely and accurate decision-making assistance to ensure compliance with quality standards and prompt resolution of quality-related issues
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and improved quality in manufacturing processes
- Perform preventative maintenance on assigned inspection equipment
- Keep abreast of industry trends and best practices in quality control
What You'll Bring
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent and training from a technical trade school or military technical school
- Experience: 3+ years related experience. Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and be self-sufficient while managing multiple tasks
- Strong computer software skills and aptitude to learn new software
- Attention to safety, quality, and performance; strong communication skills
- Excellent work ethic with the understanding that excellence is a habit
Ways to Stand Out - Preferred Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in printed circuit board assembly (preferred)
- Associate's degree in a technical specialty such as electronics technology (preferred)
- Previous SMT Quality Control experience, e.g. FAI, manual inspections, line verifications, AOI, X-Ray (preferred)
- IPC-J-STD-001 IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 certifications a plus

Total compensation for this role is market competitive. The anticipated range for this position based out of Syracuse, NY is estimated at $23 to $27/hour. The hourly rate will vary based on applicant's experience, skills, and abilities, geographic location as well as other business and organizational needs.
