General Description
Under the direction of the Quality Manager, the quality technician will work to assure consistent quality of production by; Inspecting product validating processes; providing documentation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.
- Visual and dimensional inspection of cast, welded, fabricated, and assembled parts for conformity to engineering standards.
- Develop quality plans for manufactured and purchased components by utilizing a variety of quality tools.
- Prepares quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends including process studies, product nonconformances, corrective actions, and audits.
- Initiate and lead corrective actions and verification procedures.
- Maintains and improves product and process quality by assisting in the development and revision of standard procedures.
- Communicate with team members, management, and suppliers regarding quality related information.
- Collaborating with team members to support development and implementation of new product and engineering designs, and manufacturing and training methods.
- Comply with all safety regulations and make recommendations regarding safe working methods.
- Ensures inspection area, equipment, and tools are maintained in an orderly and safe manner.
- Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
- Helps drive and support BCT's Culture and Core Values.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. - Read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Strong knowledge of GD&T.
- Use of measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.
- Reasoning ability - ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists.
Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent is required, with 2+ years of quality control experience in an industrial setting preferred.
- Applicant should have experience, and be comfortable, with Microsoft office products and familiarity with ERP type business software.
