Job Summary
The QSEnSE NSF Quantum Leap Challenge Institute at University of Colorado Boulder invites applications for a half-time Quantum Education Program Manager. This position will report to the QSEnSE Director for Education and Workforce Development and will be responsible for supporting and managing QSEnSE's major EWD initiatives, including through content/curriculum creation, maintenance of relationships with community stakeholders, and management of ongoing programs and program participants.
Responsibilities this position will largely focus on QSEnSE's two major education and workforce initiatives, a quantum industry internship readiness program for non-CU students (the Quantum Research Exchange, QRX) and a project-based quantum capstone course for CU physics and engineering students (the Quantum Forge). This includes maintaining close communication with participants in both initiatives, monitoring and supporting the health of both programs, and creating quantum-focused content as needed to supplement existing program offerings. As needed, the Program Manager will also serve as a liaison between QSEnSE and important partners, both at CU and in the local quantum industry, for example by coordinating with the CUBit quantum initiative on industry collaboration and communication.
Overall, this position will focus primarily on bringing both quantum expertise and logistical proficiency to QSEnSE's programmatic education efforts. As such, the position requires candidates to possess exceptional organization and communication skills, the ability to coordinate between groups of interested parties, and a strong ability to work independently and to translate strategic vision into strong tactical action. As time and interest allows, opportunities to engage in QIS education research with the Director may exist alongside managerial responsibilities.
This position supports effective deployment of QSEnSE educational initiatives through managerial leadership and coordination with the initiatives' diverse stakeholders. Key relationships for this position, besides the Director, are likely to be QSEnSE's Director of Operations, leadership within the CUBit quantum initiative, the CU Department of Physics and the College of Engineering, front-range QIS tech company partners, and front-range academic partners.
