Description: Our client is currently seeking a R&D Manager
This job will have the following responsibilities:
- *Five years of minimum experience as a Food Scientist or Food Technologist*
- Oversee the formulation process for the creation of new products, being aware of the functioning of each ingredient and how it affects the parameters of processing (brix, pH, texture, water activity, etc.)
- Assist consumers in understanding what they require in terms of flavor, dietary content, and label claims.
- Request all paperwork and logistical information on new ingredients, working with the relevant departments to follow up and complete the request;
- Coordinate priorities with the R&D Applications Specialist;
- Work with purchasing and suppliers if necessary to get materials in house for benchtop and line trials;Arrange and hold onto trial and workbench samples for later examination and shelf-life assessment.Oversee the transition of formulas from benchtop to line trial. Modify existing formulations as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements:
* Five years of experience developing new products and formulating food science products, with a background in confections*
• Possess a bachelor's degree in business, sales, marketing, or a similar subject;
• Possess a bachelor's degree in business, sales, marketing, or a similar subject;
• Possess a bachelor's degree in food science;
• Self-motivation;
• Basic computer abilities;
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
