CERTIFICATIONS & SPECIFICATIONS SPECIALIST (full-time)
LOCATION: Hybrid - local to Minneapolis with ability to work onsite at least once per week
SCHEDULE: M-F (standard hours, full-time)
EQUIPMENT: Candidate will need a personal or agency provided laptop to log in through a GMI provided VPN (Please no MACs, they have not had good onsite compatibility in the past).
JOB SUMMARY:
The Certifications & Specifications Specialist will be responsible for supporting our team of Certifications Specialists to develop, maintain and assure the third-party compliance of product certification information, including Kosher, Halal, Organic, Non-GMO Project, Fair Trade, RSPO, and Paleo.
The position will gather raw material information from internal and external resources to maintain paperwork for regulatory, third-party, and internal labeling substantiation requirements. The Specialist will work closely with Labeling & Regulatory Compliance team members to support project and business work.
The position could also assist with the creation of ingredient specifications in compliance with internal GMI policies and FSMA requirements. The Ingredient Specifications team manages the creation of specifications and communication of changes to internal customers, as well as vendors.
This role collaborates with cross-functional partners (Ingredient Specifications, Finished Product Specifications, R&D, Sourcing, Labeling, etc.) to ensure all the right documentation and information is collected to comply with food safety, regulatory and labeling requirements.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
" Degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Labeling or related field
" 1-3 years of certifications and specifications experience (preferred)
" Experience writing technical specifications (preferred)
" Basic understanding of product commercialization process from product design to manufacturing
" Comfortable working with cross-functional teams
" Good interpersonal and communication skills required to effectively network face-to-face with business teams
" Good organizational skills
" Self-directed, motivated and good time management
" Manage multiple projects simultaneously, providing input on end-to-end timelines of projects on assigned platform
" Ability to prioritize what's important and take action
" Proficient in Microsoft Office Products, Office 365, and SharePoint
