Job Description

The essential job functions of R&D Technician:

• Create preliminary drawings based on the specifications of sales personnel and project managers.
• Revise drawings for projects as instructed by the project manager.
• Create assembly and build drawings for the crew chief to work from.
• Create shop and fabrication drawings for custom project material (as needed).
• Deliver drawings to the structural engineer promptly to finalize all calculations.
• Implement all changes the engineer requires on drawings and all subsequent lists.
• Keep product libraries updated and add new products (as necessary).
• Create block drawings for existing parts that we do not yet have drawings for (time permitting).
• Update existing block drawings as new details are made available.
• Work with R&D within Stageco Group to improve information sharing and inter-office communication (time permitting).
• Research and design new products to help improve our existing systems.
• Research and design new products to help better serve existing clients and find new ones (time permitting).
• Revise drawings to reflect available inventory.
• Work with yard personnel and crew chief to devise standard truck loading templates and project-specific truck packs.

Construction

• Ensure crew chiefs have proper build books.
• Be readily available for questions on projects.

General Office Responsibilities

• Provide backup to colleagues in other areas of the Company.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Effectively manage work and travel schedules to execute the assigned projects successfully.

• This position requires that the person be highly organized, self-motivated, and can work independently.
• Must have strong leadership skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, and group presentations.

Education

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
• Minimum of two (2) years' experience with related products
• Proficient in AUTOCAD/Autodesk 2016-2023 is a MUST
