OBJECTIVE:
The RN Manager provides a combination of leadership tasks, administrative duties and direct resident care. They assign tasks to their nursing team and spend time evaluating and analyzing resident outcomes to identify successes and areas for improvement.
The RN Manager facilitates and oversees resident care in order to develop long-term care plans and provides opportunities for professional development within their nursing team. Their role is to establish and maintain nursing standards to ensure implementation of best nursing practices and quality treatment.
The RN Manager supervises the volume of residents and delegates tasks to team members so they can efficiently process the flow of residents from time of intake, throughout resident stay and at time of discharge while giving consistent feedback to their team. The RN Manager supports multiple RN Supervisors, LPNs and CNAs in order to adequately cover 24/7 resident care.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Foster positive and organized work environment while planning, prioritizing and assigning healthcare tasks to clinical team members to ensure quality care of residents from time of intake, throughout resident stay and at time of discharge.
- Maintain extensive knowledge and education of the biological, physiological and social factors present in any given medical situation, current nursing trends and standards.
- Demonstrates a strong understanding of federal and state guidelines and regulations, updated facility policy and regulation changes in relation to Skilled Nursing.
- Provides reports and trends to the Company and assists in developing plans to improve various areas of focus.
- Facilitates professional communication with Nursing Home Administrator, Director of Nursing, peers and leadership team as needed for continued quality care.
- Facilitate communication between Nursing Home Administrator, Director of Nursing, RN Supervisors, LPNs, CNAs and other ancillary staff.
- Coach RN Supervisors, LPNs and CNAs one-on-one and set goals for career growth.
- Provide leadership in clinical problem-solving.
- Provide and monitor training and in-servicing and provide necessary assistance and support to maintain the highest level of care.
- Communicate with residents, family members and staff in a professional manner at all times.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
- Must possess a current, unencumbered active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Pennsylvania.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility with a minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience.
- A demonstrated ability to provide consistent quality leadership for pateitn care and staff oversight, with a strong attention to detail, organizational skills and effective time management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work with a variety of healthcare professionals and residents.
- Extensive clinical skills with strong organization and oversight for resident and facility needs.
- Ability to lead and motivate others.
- Work flexibility.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Works in a clean, well- heated, well- lighted and well-ventilated building. Prolonged standing and walking, repeated bending, squatting, stooping, exposure to all resident elements including infection, odors and to peculiarities in behavior and reactions of the elderly, assists with emergencies and in restraining violent or combative residents.

Able to communicate residents’ medical needs clearly with staff and families and facilitate other staff participation in medical care through eliciting others’ observations, suggestions, etc. Able to communicate clearly and effectively with physicians.
Dementia Sensitivity: Able to teach and nurture care practices for persons with dementia that meet needs while protecting personhood and sense of well-being.
CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Will comply with all federal and state regulatory requirements to maintain licensure as Registered Nurse
