About the Job
- Role: R12 Upgrade DBA - Milwaukee, WI, USA
Skill Set required: - Must have executed a minimum of 2 R12.2 Upgrade cycles in past.
- Should have hands-on experience of database upgrade to 12c
- Must have hands-on experience of platform migration from AIX to LINUX
- Must have hands-on experience of Vertex Upgrade process
- Preferred hands-on experience of NavTeq tool upgrade
- Must have hands-on experience of RMAN, Backup Management and different Recovery techniques
- Should have design experience of EBS multi-tier architecture for multi-node Application and RAC in DB tier
- Hands-on experience of the underlying operating system and storage, Network systems
- Good knowledge of the physical database design
- Ability to perform both Oracle and operating system performance tuning and monitoring
- A good knowledge of Oracle security management like OAM, SSO, OID etc.
- Production level exposure to 3rd party integrations to EBS systems and Support experience
- Experience in tool / manual based code migration, database change management and data management through the various stages of the development life cycle
- A sound knowledge of both database and system performance tuning
- Architecture tuning as part of Upgrade iterations
- A DBA should have sound communication skills with management, development teams, vendors and systems administrators
Scope & Responsibilities: - Should own end to end process of Oracle EBS R12 upgrade to R12.2.5, Database upgrade to 12c, Platform Migration from AIX to Linux RHEL 7 and Vertex Upgrade.
- Planning and execution of MLS patches on EBS Application
- Will be responsible for Patch Analysis and impact assessment, patching process documentation
- Will be responsible for Cutover Downtime reduction thru process improvements in each Upgrade iteration, documentation of Upgrade execution times
- Cutover Document preparation from DBA perspective for Go Live activities
- Responsible for Oracle 12c Grid Installation and ASM setup and maintenance
- Responsible for schedule and execution of EBS Cloning, preparation of consolidated cloning process document
- Responsible for Post Upgrade task (Additional Node and Configuration Setting)
- Responsible for maintaining latest patch set levels of Oracle EBS w.r.t. modules tech stack, security etc.
- Ensuring LDAP, database and other supporting services required in working condition
- Responsible for System Transition training and handover of documents for Steady State Support
- Coordination with Oracle on issue resolution for SR or with other Application/Product DBAs in case of any need of support / assistance
- Responsible for giving the latest Upgrade progress status and Defect updates to PMO / Project Manager on periodic / milestone basis as required.
- Responsible for System Health Check and maintenance
- Assistance in queries tuning
- Will be responsible for End to End successful execution of Mock and Go Live Activities which will be in 24x7 model.
- Will be responsible to work in harmony with other legacy application teams for Integration connectivity for SIT and UAT testing.
- Will be actively participating in Change Management and Governance meetings and provide valuable inputs for program execution
- Infosys Candidate fitment:
- Oracle Apps DBA with 12+ years' experience, preferably Lead DBA.
- Assumptions:
- Upgrade DBA's will have Metalink access to work with Vendor on any issue.
