Responsibilities:Operates X-Ray and fluoroscopic equipment to produce routine radiographs of designated portions of the human body for neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. This position is characterized by the ability to support operating room and surgeons by providing Radiology guidance of equipment. Knowledge of OR protocols as it relates to Radiology equipment. Participates in mandatory call rotation for after hour cases. Perform intravenous, subdural, and arterial radiographic studies and work in hospital areas requiring autonomy and indirect supervision. The Registered Radiologic Technologist/Screen Atlanta works with a female population over thirty five (35) years of age.
RADIOLOGY
- Supports Operating Room by providing Radiology guidance for cases. Knowledgeable of all aspects of OR to include Radiology protocols and equipment.
- Provides on-call support for Operating Room by participating in mandatory call rotation.
- Trouble-shoots equipment related issues as needed and reports any issues as they occur to appropriate leadership.
- Inserts intravenous lines in preparation for radiologic studies.
- Performs imaging for myelograms and therapeutic chemotherapy, venograms, arthrograms, and other studies requiring intravenous or subdural injection of contrast medium.
- May assist physician with biopsy and aspiration procedures, practicing sterile technique as required. Sets up sterile trays with all supplies and instruments required for procedures.
- Provides assistance with transportation of patients to and from Emergency Room and In-Patient areas.
- Performs portable x-ray imaging as ordered.
- Graduate from an accredited program in Radiologic Technology.
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Ability to deal tactfully and pleasantly with various types of patients, visitors, physicians, and other personnel.
- Certified in cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
Preferred:
- Prior experience in diagnostic radiology.
- Prior experience in Operating Room procedures.
