Radiation Therapist -

Location: Las Cruces, NM

Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a dedicated Radiation Therapist to join our partner Medical Center in Las Cruces, NM. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a multidisciplinary team dedicated to providing exceptional cancer care.

Responsibilities:

• Radiation Therapy Administration: Safely and accurately operate radiation therapy equipment to deliver prescribed dosages of ionizing radiation to treat tumors and other conditions.
• Treatment Preparation: Assist in pretreatment preparations, including patient simulations and fabrication of treatment devices.
• Patient Care: Provide support, education, and compassion to cancer patients and their families throughout their treatment journey.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Radiation Oncologist, other therapists, nurses, and physicians to ensure coordinated and high-quality care.
• Training & Development: Assist in onboarding new team members and educating students in the field of radiation therapy.
• Safety & Compliance: Adhere to radiation safety protocols, infection control measures, and other relevant guidelines.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate and complete patient records, documenting treatment details and any pertinent observations.

Qualifications:

• Education:
  • Four-year degree preferred.
• Experience:
  • Must be knowledgeable about the operation, safety standards, and handling of radiation-producing equipment within the department.
  • Possesses experience and capabilities deemed sufficient by the Chief Therapist and Radiation Oncologist.
• Certifications/Licensure:
  • Must be certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT).
  • Must be licensed by the state or eligible for licensure.
  • CPR certification required.
