Job Description
The Radiation Therapist work under the direction of Radiation Therapist leader, Radiation Oncologist, and medical Physicist team to carry out specialized procedure that focus on delivering high doses of radiation through the means of linear accelerators. Administering ionizing radiation to the patient in accordance with the prescription and instructions of the Radiation Oncologist. Demonstrates a working knowledge of the special care required for patients of all age groups. Pre-treatment preparation of all cases; to include Daily Treatment, CT Simulation, Clinical Simulation, and Emergency Simulation. Accurate delivery of prescribed planned course of radiation.
Additional Job Description
Education: Graduate from an accredited Radiation Therapy program and registry eligible with ARRT. Certification: After ARRT certification is obtained, licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA) is required.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
