POSITION SUMMARY:
Performs or assists in radiographic procedures at a level that does not require direct supervision over technical detail.Performs and assists in a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, good knowledge of anatomy, positioning and a thorough technical knowledge of equipment. Performs registration of patients chooses the correct Medical Record and obtains accurate demographic and financial data.Establishes patient account for the purpose of producing a timely and accurate bill and an accurate medical record. Verifies insurance, and refers self-pay patients to the Financial Counselor. Identifies and collects time of service dollars.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must pass the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) National Board, and have a State of to practice Radiographic technical procedures.
- On an on-going basis the incumbent must obtain the mandatory number of continued educational units (CEU’s) needed to maintain the currency of state licensure.
- Must have certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support upon hire and maintain clinical competency during employment with ECHN in this role
EXPERIENCE:
- Must have a complete working knowledge in the principals of physics, anatomy, medical terminology, sterile technique and radiation protection as it relates to Radiology practice.
- Experience working with and caring for all age groups of patients, and complete knowledge of physics, anatomy, medical terminology, sterile technique and universal safety protection as it relates to Radiology practice is necessary.
COMPETENCIES:
- Must have the ability to speak, read and write using the English language.
- Bilingual capabilities in Spanish are desirable, but not required.
- Should have a basic familiarity with the use of personal computers and keyboards, some basic skill in Microsoft Word and Outlook is desirable but not required..
- The incumbent must meet the ECHN age specific knowledge/skill requirements and complete all ECHN assigned training and development in the time frames prescribed by the organization
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills
- Strong ability to multi-task in a high volume work environment
