JOB SUMMARY | |
The Radiology Assistant provides patient transport services between Imaging Departments and patient care areas. The Radiology Assistant may also move equipment and supplies throughout the Imaging Departments and patient care areas as well as directing visitors and guests throughout the Medical Center. |

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES | |
" | Transports patients between patient care units via bed, gurney, or wheelchair. |
" | Assists in the maintenance of wheelchairs and gurneys. |

" | Returns equipment to its proper storage location. |
" | Ensures all equipment is safe for use, inspects prior to use. |
" | Confirms patient identity using proper patient identifiers (name and birthdate) prior to transport. |
" | Uses the voalte phones to log all transports performed throughout the day. |
" | Cheerfully greets patient before transporting them. |
" | Assists in the cleaning of wheelchairs and gurneys. |
" | Performs Hand Hygiene before and after patient contact. |
" | Transports patients to and from the department, as necessary. |
" | Notifies departments of delays in transport. |
" | Communicates effectively with all patients, co-workers, and visitors. Works closely with Lead Technologist, and Department Coordinators. |
" | Assists Imaging technical staff as needed. |
" | Performs other duties as requested |
" | Transports patients to Outpatient Imaging Center as requested. |
