About the Job
The Radiology Imaging Support Specialist is responsible for accessing, managing, distributing, and inputting radiology images, orders, and data for all our customers and maintains customer service in radiology waiting areas.
Responsibilities:• Utilizes all Corporate Radiology computer systems effectively and accurately.
• Receives outpatients to the Imaging Department, ensures the validity of prescriptions, inputs HIS system orders, and assures comfort during the wait time.
• Imports and exportsimages as needed according toOH guidelines.
• Opens, reads, and burnsimagesto a CD for patient or physician release.
• Performs data integrity and validation of transferred/copied imagesto ensure no data loss has occurred.
• Learns and maintains proficiency in all existing and new image and data retrieval and distribution medians such as HIS, PACS, CR and Image Workstations.
• Maintainsthorough knowledge of policies, system problemresolution techniques, and system downtime processes.
• Understands departments and hospital systems and operations, how they correlate and interface to other services and systems provided by OH and other facilities, and the impact on our customers.
• Communicates effectively, openly, and encourages conflictresolution within the team.
• Demonstrates a positive attitude, professional appearance, and demeanor, and communicates effectively with the customer to meet and exceed customer satisfaction.
• UnderstandsHIPAA regulations and appliesthese concepts as they relate to the exchange of confidential information.
• Assumesthe role of a team leader as necessary to ensure continuous workflow and team cohesiveness.
• May be required to participate in training sessions and/or workshopsrelated to technology changes and/or newinnovations. May be responsible for training others on these advancements.

• Recognizes basic anatomy/pathology,medical terminology, and ICD & DX codes.
• Attends departmentalmeetings and in-services and participatesin processimprovementinitiatives.
• Participatesin educational programsrequired to enhance skills.
• Performs assigned and additional duties as necessary in a confidential, accurate, and timely manner to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Maintainsthe overall organization and cleanliness of work areas, thus promoting a positive customer environment.
• Providesinput to the team and participates constructively in team decisions.
• Maintains equipment and supply inventory.
Education/Training
High school graduate or equivalent.
Medical Assistant or Certified Nurtified Assistant Preferred
Experience
Two (2) years of clerical or customer service experience.
